Parag, who replaced the outgoing Sanju Samson as captain of Rajasthan Royals, has scores of 14*, 8, 20, 3, 4 and 12. In Wednesday’s game against the Super Giants, he came to the crease in the third over of the innings after Mohammed Shami sent Dhruv Jurel for the golden duck. While he played patiently for a few overs, he lost his composure while trying to hit Prince Yadav for a six when Nicholas Pooran took a simple catch at long-on, giving him 81 runs in seven innings.

Rajasthan Royals have suffered two consecutive defeats after four consecutive wins
Meanwhile, the Royals started their 2026 IPL season with four straight wins but suffered two consecutive defeats against SunRisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders with their batting weaknesses evident. The batting weaknesses were exposed again after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal died without scoring much.
The Super Giants were also inconsistent and started their season with a loss against the Delhi Capitals. After wins over the SunRisers and Knight Riders, the Super Giants lost to the Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings.
