LSG vs RR, IPL 2026: Ravindra Jadeja’s finishing act, Rishabh Pant fails again, Mitchell Marsh’s 55 In Vain

LSG vs RR, IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals delivered another clinical bowling performance as they confidently defended 159 points against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to return to winning ways in the IPL 2026 at the Ekana International Stadium on Wednesday, April 22. The Super Giants batting unit continued to put in abysmal batting performances and fell 40 runs short as they suffered their fifth defeat, led by Rishabh Pant’s three-ball duck.

Here are the key moments from the LSG vs RR IPL 2026 match

5) Riyan Parag’s dismissal for 22

Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag continued to perform with the bat, falling on 20 off 19 balls as the Super Giants broke a promising 30-year partnership with Shimron Hetmyer. With the Royals having already lost three wickets, Parag’s wicket was a huge blow to their hopes.

4) Mayank Yadav’s missed catch

While right-arm speedster Mayank Yadav had a memorable evening with the ball, conceding 56 of the four goals he conceded, his performance on the field also left a lot to be desired. In the 13th over of the innings, the pacer misjudged a catch from Donovan Ferreria’s bat when the South African played a pull shot. While Ferreira managed just 20 runs in the 19 balls he faced, he shared a valuable 33-run stand with Ravindra Jadeja

3) Ravindra Jadeja’s final act

Ravindra Jadeja came to the crease as the Royals were reeling at 62/4 and had taken the Royals to 159 at the end of the innings. While Mayank Yadav scored 36 in his three overs, set Jadeja hit the 23-year-old for 20 runs in the last six balls of the innings to remain unbeaten on 43. The Saurashtra all-rounder’s innings made a big difference on the night. He also picked up a wicket.

2) LSG’s pathetic power play

Chasing a modest 160, albeit on difficult ground, Lucknow Super Giants found themselves behind in the powerplay, losing Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram – all for Ducks – and slumped to 11/3 in 2.5 overs. From then on, the Royals smelled blood and ensured that the Super Giants never got into a winning position again.

1) Mitchell Marsh’s dismissal for 55

Mitchell Marsh reached his half-century off 39 balls with a six in the 16th over of the innings and was key to the Super Giants’ success. But Marsh made a mistake off the bowling of Nandre Burger in the same over and perished for 55. After the West Australian’s wicket, it was just formalities for the Royals as they secured a clinical win.
