After reaching his half-century in just 25 deliveries, Abhishek was notably given a lifeline when Nitish Rana missed a relatively difficult chance at 86. Abhishek made sure the Capitals paid and played a crucial role in taking the SunRisers to an impressive 242/2 in 20 overs.
4) Quinton de Kocks 140* against Kolkata Knight Riders
Quinton de Kock, who played for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in 2022, scored an outstanding knock of 140* against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the DY Patil Stadium. After playing 70 deliveries in his knock, LSG did not lose a wicket and reached a score of 210/0 in 20 overs. KKR came mighty close but fell behind by a few runs.
3) Abhishek Sharma’s 141 against Punjab Kings
The Punjab Kings slammed 245/6 in Hyderabad in IPL 2025, supported by Shreyas Iyers’ 82 and Marcus Stoini’s death-over fireworks, allowing the SunRisers to mount one of the highest run chases in the history of the tournament. But the opening partnership of 171 between Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head left fans in no doubt that the SunRisers are on their way to a win. Abhishek reached his fifty off 19 balls and needed just 40 balls to reach three figures, helping the Orange Army reach the target in 18.3 overs.
2) Brendon McCullum’s 158 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru
It was the birth of IPL and the tournament in 2008 couldn’t have got off to a better start with Brendon McCullum storming to an unbeaten 158 to crush Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Royal Challengers, trailing by just 224 points after McCullum’s fireworks, slumped to a total of 82 points and lost by 140 runs.
