Abhishek Sharma’s hundred helped SunRisers Hyderabad to a convincing win over Delhi Capitals

Abhishek Sharma’s second IPL ton at the same venue was instrumental in SunRisers Hyderabad posting an impressive total of 242/2 in their stipulated 20 overs. Abhishek’s opening partnership of 97 set the tone as Ishan Kishan also hit a 13-ball 25. Abhishek, on the other hand, reached his half-century in just 25 balls and reached the three-figure mark in just 47 balls. The impetus was also provided by Heinrich Klaasen, who was next, with an unbeaten 37 from 13 deliveries and a score of 284.61.

While Dilshan Madushanka’s IPL debut saw him dismiss his compatriot Pathum Nissanka for 8 in his third over, making the first breakthrough. Although Nitish Rana and KL Rahul posted a stand of 86 runs, the Capitals ended up losing three more wickets without a run, making their task increasingly difficult. The likes of Sameer Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs delivered some heavy hitting but the Capitals still fell 47 runs short of the target. Eshan Malinga was the pick of the bowlers with outstanding figures of 4-0-32-4.
