The tournament is structured like the Indian Premier League 2023, with ten teams split into two groups during the league phase. Each team plays twice against the other teams in its own group and once against the teams in the other group. This ensures that all franchises meet and puts more emphasis on group rivalries. The four best teams move into the playoffs at the end of the league phase. The two best teams play in Qualifier 1 for a direct place in the final. The third and fourth place teams play in the eliminator, where the loser is eliminated from the tournament. The winner of the Eliminator will then play in Qualifier 2 against the loser of Qualifier 1. The winner of this match will receive the final spot in the final. Points scored will determine placement and if there is a tie, net run rate will be used to break the score. The Punjab Kings are currently in first place with 11 points. Mumbai climbed to 7th place after this win.
