PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2026: Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer and other teammates couldn’t help but laugh as Shashank Singh endured a horror night on the field during the IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Mullanpur. In a video that surfaced on social media, Shreyas Iyer, who was on the boundary line, fell apart, as did Musheer Khan, who was beyond the boundary line after Shashank’s fielding mistake. The cameras also focused on head coach Ricky Ponting, who was unhappy with the errors.

PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2026: How many catches did Shashank Singh miss on the night?

Shashank, one of the most explosive batters the IPL has seen in recent times, missed a chance on the leg side against Nicholas Pooran in the 14th over of the innings, but Marco Jansen dismissed the West Indian an over later. The second chance came in the 18th over of the innings when the right-handed batsman completely misjudged the ball and thought it would sail well over the boundary, but it ended up just inside.

The third catch the 34-year-old missed was in the 19th over, sent down by Xavier Bartlett when he deflected the ball from deep square leg.

PBKS vs LSG, IPL 2026: Punjab Kings remain unbeaten after Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly’s carnage

After smashing their season’s highest total of 254, the Punjab Kings stormed to a big 54-run win to remain unbeaten in IPL 2026. While Prabhsimran Singh went down for a golden duck in the first over, Cooper Connolly and Priyansh Arya fought with all their might against the Super Giants. The two formed a partnership of 182 off just 81 deliveries, with Arya hitting 93 and Connolly smashing 87. Although PBKS lost Connolly, Arya and Iyer in quick succession, the finishers ensured their team reached 254 in 20 overs.

In response, the Super Giants got the start they wanted but never seemed to have the required run rate under control as some excellent defensive bowling from PBKS made the task more difficult as time went on. Cameos from Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram took LSG to their first 200+ total of the season. Arya received the Player of the Match award for his 93 off 37 balls.
