Nida Khan’s family members have claimed that she is not absconding but is currently in Mumbai expecting her first child. According to them, the pregnancy is real and forms the basis of their legal right to protection from arrest, reports NDTV.

Khan, who was named in one of the FIRs related to alleged religious harassment and workplace misconduct, has reportedly approached a local court in Nashik seeking anticipatory bail. Investigators are expected to verify her pregnancy claim against official medical records as part of the legal process.

The ongoing controversy revolves around serious allegations of sexual harassment, forced religious conversion and workplace misconduct at the Nashik unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

Police have registered nine FIRs based on complaints from several employees, most of them women, alleging harassment and pressure in the office environment between February 2022 and March 2026.

So far, seven employees have been arrested in connection with the case. They include several male employees and a senior human resources officer. Authorities suspect that some accused individuals may have acted in concert to target vulnerable employees within the organization.

Investigators have also noted that as the investigation progresses, more employees may file complaints.

According to police, several victims alleged that senior colleagues psychologically harassed them, used offensive language and ignored complaints to human resources.

One of the accused allegedly developed a physical relationship with an employee after promising to marry him, but later reneged on that promise. Authorities also recorded allegations of inappropriate physical contact and humiliating comments about private and marital life.

“When the complainant repeatedly made verbal complaints regarding these incidents to the company’s managing director, he ignored her complaints regarding harassment; instead, he virtually encouraged her actions,” a police statement said.

Investigators also reported that a male employee was allegedly forced to perform namaz and insulted because of his religious identity.

Given the seriousness of the allegations, the police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a detailed investigation. Officials are reviewing digital evidence, internal communications records and employee statements.

The case has attracted widespread public attention and protests have been organized in Nashik demanding justice and stricter workplace protections. Women-led demonstrations have highlighted concerns about employee safety and responsibility in corporate settings.

Authorities are also monitoring suspects’ mobile devices and communication records to collect further evidence.

Nida Khan TCS case: TCS responds with zero tolerance statement

Tata Consultancy Services said it is taking the allegations seriously and has already suspended the employees named in the investigation.

“TCS has long had a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and coercion of any kind. We have always ensured the highest standards of safety and well-being of our employees at work,” the IT giant said in a statement.

“As soon as the matter was brought to our attention in Nashik, we took swift action,” it said.

The company also confirmed that it is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities and will take further action based on the outcome of the investigation.

Meanwhile, Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran called the allegations deeply worrying and ordered a thorough internal review by senior management.

“This incident is being treated with utmost seriousness. Action has already been initiated against the accused employees and the company extends its full cooperation to the ongoing investigation,” Chandrasekaran said.
