Arshdeep Singh led the way with the ball by taking three wickets with the ball while Prabhsimran Singh managed an explosive knock of 80* as the Punjab Kings needed just 16.3 overs to score 197 at the Wankhede Stadium. Quinton de Kock scored a huge goal, but it was in vain.

Arshdeep Singh broke his two-wicket drought in the IPL 2026 match against SunRisers Hyderabad in a span of four overs. Against Mumbai Indians, he went a step further by dismissing Ryan Rickelton (2) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) in successive balls in his second over. The left-hander released the dangerous Sherfane Rutherford and finished the game with a record of 4-0-22-3.

3) Naman Dhir’s wicket for 50

Mumbai Indians sent Naman Dhir at number 4 and the right-hander responded brilliantly by countering the Punjab Kings’ bowling. After reaching his 50 from 29 deliveries, Dhir picked out Xavier Bartlett in the 14th over of the innings to complete a 122-run stand. It was a timely wicket for Punjab as Dhir prepared to break away.

While Jasprit Bumrah once again went wicketless, the 32-year-old’s day on the field was no better. Since Prabhsimran Singh was only 11 years old, Bumrah put a dolly back to give him a lifeline. In the opening game of the PBKS, they broke an unbeaten 80 points and gave their team the victory.
