In South Korea, Johnny Somali streamed an annoying stream in which he kissed a “comfort woman” statue, disrupted public transportation and stores, and shared vulgar content in public.
In one of his streams, he disrespected and kissed the statue that symbolizes Korean victims of wartime sexual slavery in Japan.
In addition, in October 2025 he was accused of disrupting business by playing loud music and spilling a cup of noodle broth on the table, and in the same month he was accused of approaching passers-by on a Mapo street with a smelly bag of fish, which caused public anger.

A judge in South Korea sentenced Johnny Somali on Tuesday, April 14th. He was reportedly taken to a special labor prison where his phone will be confiscated. He was sent to prison primarily for a series of provocative and disruptive acts, collectively known in South Korea as “harassment streaming.”

He was charged with obstruction of business and dissemination of fake sexual images under the Act on Special Cases in the Punishment of Sexual Crimes.
Johnny Somali faces four charges of interfering with business, two charges of breaching the Minor Crimes Act and two charges of sexual violence.
He is also accused of streaming offensive sounds to himself on the subway, including speeches by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
He also allegedly performed lap dances on a monument commemorating Korea’s sex slaves during World War II. Because of this stream, he was banned from YouTube.
At the first hearing of the first trial, Johnny Somali once appeared in a white suit, wearing a red hat with the words “Make America Great Again” (MAGA), and during the sentencing hearing of the first trial, Johnny Somali was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of 150,000 won.
He also ordered a five-year ban on employment in institutions that care for children, young people and people with disabilities.
